The restaurant sits in the sand under a large palapa looking up the beautiful Mayto marsh.
There is seating for 50 people and a bar serving a range of cocktails. The menu at the restaurant features traditional cuisine and specializes in breakfast dishes. Other specials include the prawn and octopus cocktail. Delicious salsas accompany all meals.
The authentic Mexican kitchen created by owner Piedad takes you back to days where these kitchens were common all over Mexico.
The ocean around Mayto is full of life and the nearby fishing village of Tehuamixtle, only 3km away, is full of local fisherman. Oysters are a major resource all along the coast, as are prawns, lobsters, octopus and a variety of fish. There are also crabs in the front of the marsh that are patiently stalked by the locals at dusk to make a crab soup.Coconuts, pineapple, mango, papaya, watermelon, melon, avocado, tomatoes and of course chillies of all descriptions are in abundance.
